Group Generator

One name is fun. A whole crew is a moment. Paste one name per line — friends, bandmates, coworkers, your fantasy league — and the generator gives everyone a deterministic Wu name you can read out loud, argue about, and keep.

Deterministic output is what makes group naming work. Because the same input always yields the same Wu name, there is no re-rolling until someone gets a flattering result — everyone keeps what their name earned, which is exactly where the arguing starts. Copy the whole list with one tap and drop it back into the chat.

The classic uses: dorm floors and roommates, D&D parties who want rapper alter egos, podcast hosts naming their fictional crew, fantasy football leagues renaming themselves for the playoffs, streamers naming their moderators, and bands picking an umbrella alias for a side project.

Fair-play rules that keep it fun

Keep the inputs honest: real first names, not wish lists. The generator uses the first word as the prefix seed and the last word as the suffix seed, so nicknames work too — but whatever goes in decides what comes out, on every device, forever.

Want lore for the results? Every word in the generator has an entry in the name meanings dictionary, so the crew can look up why "Grimy Scholar" is simultaneously an insult and a compliment.

Naming scenarios that actually get used

Fantasy football leagues rename their teams Wu every playoff season — one paste, twelve aliases, instant standings-page comedy. Game night hosts hand out names as table assignments. Streamers generate their mods a name each as a bonding bit. Bands use the batch list to pick a tour alias, then argue about it for a year. The pattern is always the same: deterministic results make the names feel earned, and earned names are the ones people actually keep using.

If your crew wants deeper cuts, have everyone look up their two words in the meanings dictionary and defend why their combination is the strongest in the room. That argument is the product.

One practical tip from long experience with these tools: generate before the stakes get high. A crew name picked in the group chat on a Tuesday is a running joke; the same crew name picked at the venue door on a Friday is a fight. The generator is deterministic, so there is no advantage to waiting — run it early, let the results settle in, and show up already knowing who is the Mad Sovereign.

How many names can I generate at once?

Up to 40 per batch — paste one name per line. For a longer roster, run a second batch; the results will match what the solo generator gives for the same names.

Will two people with the same name get the same Wu name?

Yes — that is the point. Same name in, same name out. Add a last name or an initial to tell namesakes apart.

Can I copy all the results?

Yes. The "Copy all names" button copies every line as "original → Wu name", ready to paste into any chat.
